Default Shift linkage

I just picked up a 06 CBR600rr motor and im putting it in my yamaha g-16. Im wondering how you guys with bike motors made shift linkage. Since I work at a place that makes push pull cables I was thinking about making a cable and connecting it to a shift lever that just goes forward for up shifting and backward for downshifting. You guys think that will work?

Lol sweet. I thought that sounded about right. We are an authorized cablecraft assembler. They are a bit more expensive but we build them to any lengh and size. But I dont want to get in trouble for advertising on here. Ill definetly start putting up pictures once I start working on it. Its stripped down right now. I should have the stock motor out of it by mid week. Im making my own a-arms for in the front and using a raptor axle for the rear. Im planning on running 25" or 27" tires.

Can somebody please post a pic of there set up? I am putting a suzuki ltz 400 motor in my ez-go and am trying to figure out how to connect the shifter. I am kinda stumped on what kind of cable set up I should run or what kind of cable period would work. Thanks in advanced.

im currently putting an 04 CBR600RR in my yamaha G19e. The rear axle is just getting finished up. Tomorrow the motor will be mounted in and then ill be worrying about the same thing. Shift linkage! I cut the differential in half with a sawzall and i am making it direct 520 chain drive with the stock rear end minus differential. :)
