Default 48v load test batteries

Hey guys, newbie question I take it, when load testing each battery should I have the cart in Tow mode and should I remove one cable, either + or - ?? Thx

You don't have to put it in tow or disconnect the batterlies as long as you are careful when checking each battery.

The easiest load tester IMO is your cart itself. Drive it full pedal up the biggest hill you can find. :)

This is also the best true test short of an expensive draw down machine. You can make due with a battery meter in dash or a handheld on the seat as we used to do.
If you have an Alltrax controller SR or XCT you can connect a laptop and collect a monitor file while running these tests. The resulting file will show how much amperage the motor draws and the voltage sags at any given moment.

Thanks guys, to be honest I tried using the cart itself under load. Im in Florida and not really any hills here. I couldn't tell a **** thing trying this LOL. I have changed the battery meter to a SOC volt meter. Voltage drops down to 47 at full throttle.

Assuming you are running Lead Acid, that's not concerning to drop to that level.

If you want to see max Amp draw, this has worked well for me.
