86 rebuild

just did a complete rebuild on a 86 robin 2 stroke , starter wouldn't turn over new engine so I rebuilt it too . now it turns over fine has spark ( tho it's a weak red spark ) , and a very large amnount of fuel/ oil mix is coming out of the exaust pipe ( no muffler connected ) and only a tiny amnount coming out of the plug hole , btw it's not trying to crank , the fuel pump wasn't working before or after rebuild so I reused the electric one that was already mounted . I pulled it out and tore it back down and found the top ring had stuck , piston was not installed incorrectly ,could 1 ring sticking be causing all this ?
the rebuild was / crankshaft/ rod /piston/ rings /cylinder /both seals / gaskets / and real good bath
