Another 5 hours or so and got the starting circuit installed along with some crude choke linkage. For the starting circuit I added a 60's ford solenoid coming off the main solenoid with a weather proof momentary on switch to engage the starter motor. So when I get the throttle worked out maybe I can actually drive this thing. P.S. I will clean up all this temp wiring once I make sure all is working.

Found all the pieces to do the choke right. Redid that and put a meter on the arctic cat/ kohler charging system.I am getting 13.8 volts at an idle. The cooling pins on the kohler regulator/rectifier are not even getting warm. I am done until the throttle bell crank come from speedway motors and it is off to work tomorrow anyway.

Looking at your pictures you did a great job setting up the 440. The rectifier I used is a fan cooled unit. On the Kohler engine it's made for -- it's mounted in the fan shroud. Mounted where you have it -- over time it could overheat. Keep up the great work.

Spent untold hours today raising the center control panel 3 1/2 " s. I also added a double pole switch in place of the bosche 5 pin relay as this simplified controlling the ignition magneto and the 12 volt cart/starting system. No bell crank yet from speedway motors.

My throttle bell crank is in some sort of post office fubar but my uni air cleaner, new starter motor and shop manual for a 1990 arctic cat jag arrived today . Used the shop manual for a good look on how to remove the oil pump drive system completely which I did. I also installed the new starter purchased off ebay for $45 with coupon delivered. The old one had a whole lotta side play. Lastly put the UNI 1 3/5 "2 stage air filter on the mikuni VM 34.

Your getting there Ray............ It's a lot more work than you ever expect when beginning. But, keep plugging away and you'll get it done.

Looking good too!

I just hope reality comes out like the fantasy of what a sled powered cart would be like. The good news is that this is an extra cart and not my everyday VC 460 powered G14 where I continue to pile the hours up on. The other good news is that in lots of use my Cut 50 plasma cutter and eastwood 135 mig have really worked well in this project. It would have been a whole lot harder without the cut 50 and the welds not nearly as good with the old H.F. wire welder.

The speedway motors bell crank finally arrived today. It is a nice quality piece with a ball bearing pivot. It measures 7"s tip to tip. Too bad it is storming here today.
