Re: Kawasaki KVF 700 into EZGo txt?
And we have front suspension about sorted out. Steering was too easy.
My only beef is the overall length of the cart. But that will require another phase. I have a KLF 300 rear axle assy with a 4 link locking differential. But the the hogshead is not correctly located for the 700 output shaft. Wheel bolt pattern is same as 700. The 300 axle has crap drum brakes. Might be phase II. IMHO, these things look better with mostly stock wheelbase. |

If you have trouble with "quick steer" I can help you out there.

Re: Kawasaki KVF 700 into EZGo txt?
Could be an issue. The knuckles are designed for a short travel pitman.
So as to plan, w hat's the solution to the steering...? Fine tooth rack and pinion would be a good start? Thanks. Figured out the pics "sideways" issue. The phone only loads correctly when pics taken fod a left rotated llandscape. Portraits load sideways no matter what. The EXIF tags are set to the original photo... apparently..? |

I made extension my pitmans. I would go to the rack idea for that one. Would be a good investment.

The "fine tooth rack" is a figment of my imagination...not sure if such exists?
I'll see what it does. Steering is decently snug. The geometry will tell the rest. The pics still ain't right. Half right. Anyway, we made some progress today. |

Re: Kawasaki KVF 700 into EZGo txt?
Just thinking out loud....Didn't you say you'd like to get the rear wheels more forward? I see the cross member just waiting to be cut and moved forward several inch's. Even an "_/----\_" (sorry not cool scetch) that could even make the main tubes of the KVF mount better to the modified cross member. Like I said, just a thought. Keep going

Re: Kawasaki KVF 700 into EZGo txt?
Thanks for the input. Thought about a doghouse and decided to keep the footwell stock.
I think it'll look ok with the bed on it. It won't have the cutie short wheelbase, but it will have a plush ride. Thing feels like a motorcross bike. In order to move the subframe forward, I'd have to cut all of our work apart. I'm going to see how the concept works out and who knows..may have to cut it apart for some reason? Sorting out brake linkage, cooling lines, and front brake actuator. Add throttle cable too. There's a bit less space around the engine than I expected. Cannot get the clutch cover on without moving the engine to the driver's side. No problem right now. There's room for the cover..just cannot easily r&r the thing. That area doesn't require much attention. |

Re: Kawasaki KVF 700 into EZGo txt?
I hope this still looks like an EZGO golf cart..? I know..the tires are all on backwards.
The steering is remarkable in the location using all factory parts. Question. As was discussed above, anyone know if a slower rack and pinion gearset is available for EZGO racks? The thing might steer a bit quick? |

Re: Kawasaki KVF 700 into EZGo txt?
Gonna need to do some studying but racks that go on mini Baja are a start.
I'm about to do the same to my Marathon. But risking my membership in the old school marathon club I can't divulge the make or donor cart for the rack and pinion. What you have will work you just need to extend your pitman arm about 3 inches. I can take some pictures of my dads g14 that I put a Honda 350 front suspension in. May take a few days for me to get them. Things I've learned. The steering rods need to be parallel to the arms. They need to have the same swing radius as the arms. If they are not you will have bump steer. They have to be close to factory for it to operate correctly. Green lines are the steering rods and the blue is the rack. |
