Most every here that uses Lithium-Ion batteries use this design and lay out. Also there is nothing wrong with Chinese BMS's and Chargers, but I would stay from the Tech Direct Kit. It is way underrated. Use this setup I've attached and you shouldn't have any problems. BTW it's not my design. I borrowed it from Pingeye3. He may have borrowed it from somebody else.

Agree with nothing wrong with the Chinese BMS’s. I have used many of them and have not had a failure. Same goes for the chargers. I purchase mine from AliExpress. I’ve used both 14s for 48v systems and 20s for 72v systems.

Cheers
Pat.

Honestly I just wanted a bms I could have soon. Was amazed no one is even reselling the bms in North America.
My cells will be here within a week.

I have a small buck converter.
I did order a Chinese bms. Hopefully it doesn't take for ever.
I'm looking at chargers but it would seem any 48v output will work for charging.

You need a charger designed for 14S Lithium at 4.2V per cell. (turned down a bit for longer life) Do not use a 48V charger designed for FLA batteries!

I ordered an overkill bms.
I'm hoping it can handle the draw, and will cut out what is needed.

At this point I'm having a hell of a time finding a charger that works and is in stock anywhere
