Default Help switching from 36 to 48 volt!!

I want to add 2 6-volt batteries to my 36-volt club car to make it 48-volt. How would I wire the 2 extra batteries into the existing batteries and where would be the best place to mount the extra batteries? Pics would a great help.

The bigger question may be 'How are you going to charge the extra batteries?'

I'm going to buy a 48 volt charger. I just need an idea of mounting and how to wire in correctly.

Yes, An excellent choice in my opinion... What I ment before was click THIS LINK here:

The 2 new batteries need to be wired in series first we need to know what kinda cart you have* and how old the batteries are

* Club car made 3 kinds of 36v carts;
1. 5 solenoid
2. resistor coils
3. controller
Which do you have?

Okay.....that is not the best answer.
CC only made the 5 solenoid cars for a few years and then they discovered
(basically) they could do the same thing with one solenoid and a v-glide. None of the 5 solenoids will take 48v....
I'm not 100% sure. Someone can correct me if they know otherwise, but...I think you have to convert to a V-glide and single solenoid (resistor cart) or controller cart to make this work. And for my money I would go to a controller; hands down!

There is a guy at work that has a 86 CC w/ 5 resistors that is running 48-volts but is using 8-volt batteries. I want to add 2 more 6-volts to mine but not sure how to wire them up. The resistors will take 48-volts for a certain amount of time but it's best to switch to 48-volt resistors.

I have not tried it on a 5 solenoid cart...Old CC solenoids are tough. I have one that is on 48v for almost 1 yr with out failure. CAUTION Solenoid failure can occur in either a stuck open or stuck closed position resulting in a dangerous situation.
This cart here got a 48v solenoid and 2 batteries added in the rear:

The 2 additional batteries would simply be wired into the pack pos to neg as are the rest. They can be added into the middle of the pack as these were or the end. Which ever results in the shortest cables. I strongly suggest 48v solenoids for safety and 4 gauge cables to allow the bounty of amps to fully flow to the motor. Old 6g cables will provide much resistance and we all know resistance wastes amps and produces heat. Good luck

By the time you buy the right 48 volt solenoids you could have bought an electronic speed controller. If you keep the control wiring 36 volt you "Might" not have any issues using the stockers.
