Default '89 club car moves when key off???

I have an '89 club car 36 volt with a solid state controller that moves when the key is in the off position when pedal mashed and in gear. I've tried a new key switch, unhooking the wires from the key switch, and unhooking the key switch wires from the f/r switch and charge recepticle, but it still moves when it shouldn't. Please help me figure out what to try next. Thanks!!

Hello and welcome to BGW 89 CC is a good year but, it didn't come with a controller. It came a factory resistor cart... So someone has upgraded and it seems that when they did, they heated the solenoid directly instead of thru the key switch. Download the wiring diagram which best matches your cart now and follow the secondary electric circuit to where the previous mechanic made the mistake....

My bad!!!! I posted the wrong info. What I have is an '89 36 volt club car with a v-glide. Looked at wrong diagram when entering info on car.(printed off all I could find looking for 1 that matched) Mine is the same as the '88-'03 diagram with v-glide as found here. Already matched it up and is wired correctly. It's never been upgraded, still bone stock. I know this because it was purchessed from a country club for my granddaddy in '91 or '92. Been out of service for some time, but looks like new. THANKS FOR ANY HELP I GET!!!!!

I don't understand how this could be. The only thing that has been done was new batts. installed and f/r switch replaced when it shorted out. But was already doing this before that happened.

That's kind of what I was thinking, but wanted more opinions before I started buying parts I don't need. How can I check these??? Carts are new to me as far as working on them goes. Cars, trucks, tractors, and atvs have always been my thing.
Thanks to all that help!!!

Thinking this over some more....I guess that if it is wired correctly. And it is a simple system. The solenoid could be welded closed and that can produce the situation you describe. With a voltmeter check and see that the solenoid interrupts the voltage like a switch across the two large terminals..if it is always on, remove either of the small wires and re-test. If it is still on, disconnect the cable on the v-glide side. If it is still on = it is defective. ( welded closed or on )
