Default Lift Question - DIY or send to a shop?

Hey Guys,

I'm gonna have to send my cart to a shop to check out steering issues I'm having.

I've asked one guy who runs a custom cart shop here in Tallahassee, and he said for the lift kit, tires, wheels installed would run me about $1200 depending on what tires I'm looking at.

This seems pretty high to me. What are your thoughts/experiences with having someone else install the lift?

Do you have a pic of the combo kit? Is this an installed price?

$1200 is for it installed. This was a ballpark from him without picking out wheels and tires.

That's what I'm worried about. Seems like I can get a pretty good lift/tire/wheel combo for $650. I just don't know if I'm up to the job.

I kind of want to jump in and try it, but then if I screw it up I'll be having someone pick it up anyway to fix it.

Not at all. The kit, if it's a trustworthy kit, should come with instructions. Anyway, if you get in trouble, we are here to help. It's pretty simple once you get into the cart

Doing it yourself is just part of the enjoyment of owning a cart, at least thats my take on it!

Awesome. Any recommendations on lifts? I've looked at Jake's and a kit from americanlifts.com.

Stick with the site sponsors here. What type are you looking for? Trails, soft and cushy ride? Big lift, medium lift?
