any auto body guys out there??
Hi, I just bought this cart and have been calling around to local body shops for a quote for paint. They all tell me to email pictures. So far I have gotten one response of $1950 to fix a small 3" crack in the fiberglass and paint the front section, back section, and top one color base coat clear coat. Does $1950 seem like a lot? I think its crazy but maybe I'm crazy?? What would any of your guys charge in your area? Im in South florida (fort lauderdale area)

Nice cart. Wish I could help ya but I painted mine myself in the garage. Good luck with your project and can't wait to see finished pics.

Re: any auto body guys out there??
so are you taking the cart apart for paint or do they have to do that? Also do you know what brand of paint they are using? Just trying to get an idea of time and materials.

Yes, I am taking the whole cart apart and I would bring them the three pieces to paint. No masking to be done at all. I am not sure of the brand of paint however I did tell him just a basic black base coat- clear coat job.

Wow! I was figuring that price to be with the disassembly and reassembly. Yes that is very steep for what you are asking for. If it is just one crack to fix and the rest of the body can just be scuffed and painted then it really shouldn't be any more than $ 1,000 at the very most. If he is primering the whole thing then sanding it before paint then that is a little more but not much. Just an example for what I charge for a cart that is front, back and top scuffing and painting standard base/clear is usually around $750. And that is using Dupont paint not a lesser brand.

Geez! South of Atlanta here and I pay $250 for front and rear body pieces. I disassemble and deliver to the painter. Scuffing, primer, base and clear.

Re: any auto body guys out there??
Lol I complain that's it too much. There is another guy on the "other" side of town that does them for 150 , but you run the risk of losing life and limb at the red light. You do get what you pay for, but its still a decent job
