Default lift/tire combo question (mostly tire)

sorry for the stupid questions...but.....

looking at all the differnt 6" spindle lift and tire combos that are offered from numerous sites and most of the lifts "appear" to be similar in design......one question I have is about the tire selection......

Poboys in Harrilson Ga. tells me that the lift kit they want to install on my '96 CC gasser will be a "spindle" lift and that it will require 10" wheels...????

but almost all the lift /wheel combos from sponsers and other sites have 8" wheels...what am I missing here?? is the spidle lift from poboys just made differnt?? differnt manufacture?? why would their lift require 10" wheels???
Is 10" wheels better??? Worse???? dont really matter????

pro/cons of 8" vs 10" wheels?????

I ask this due to the fact that I am on an extreme budget with this cart...trying to get a decent lift, a decent set of tires at the best price..I will be installing it myself.....

looking forward to taking on this project...just don't want to make to many mistakes when I start ordering parts for the project....

any help would be appreciated

Default Re: lift/tire combo question (mostly tire)

I am looking myself and I thing I am going with the 10" steel rims. I am not an expert but I think the only real difference is the side wall of the tire. larger for the 8" shorter for the 10". In my opinion the 10" rims looks better. Also the rims need to be offset. There are people with more info on the site which can give you more help.
