Electric fence for a mouse

First, here’s the basic plan for such a device. The article states they use a 120V plug in “fence charger”, but what the article doesn’t say is what is the output?

I don’t know how many amps run thru a typical electric fence, or what it takes to kill a mouse without setting a building on fire, or killing a pet.

I’m good with “instant dead mouse”.

Any ideas/comments on the power needed to accomplish this? Please, no “get a cat” comments or “seal the building better”. I need to know the “kill mouse/not kill small pets” output.https://www.farmshow.com/a_article.php?aid=33015

I would assume your average fencer would kill a mouse. Should not kill anything larger then a rabbit.

Building a better mouse trap are we?
Years ago I had a small dog pen with electric fence, 1 or 2 jole charger, 10 mile or so rating.
The bottom strand was as low as the insulators would allow. I'd find dead song birds occasionally. The trick will be getting it low enough for a mouse and having them well grounded.

A fence charger works on pulses so the timing would have be right to get the culprit. Might be a dumb question but have you tried the regular style traps or a bucket trap?

Of course. But the storage place isn’t the best for “sealed up” buildings. I’d prefer something that doesn’t need daily/weekly/monthly maintenance. And dead mouse smell is no big deal, can be scooped up and tossed.
