Default '84 G1 updates...

Finally found some time to work on the cart I bought off craigslists for $300. So far I've added headlights, LED taillight/brake light combo, stereo, pin-striping, Keystone Klassic hubcaps, and a set of Honda 400ex shocks to the rear. I still have to fab up a rear seat, that's why I put the Honda shocks on it, and build a windshield and canopy roof. I was surprised that the Honda shocks added that much lift, but it just adds to the '70s look with the panel pin-striping! You can see the $5 momentary switch I installed in the brake pedal for the brake lights, just wired it directly to the battery. Motor mounts are next on the list, after installing a new belt it became apparent that they are shot. Fun stuff and I'm still under $600 on the build so far!

No, I don't have any plans to lift the front.

I only added the rear shocks so I could build a seat for a couple of my 200lb friends to ride on the back. They added a little more lift than I thought they would.

Yup, it's a weatherproof momentary switch I picked up at Northern Tool that I wired in to run the brake light portion of the LED combo taillight/brakelight you can see in the above picture. It's about 14" across and puts out a lot of light and was about $25 or so.

Last night I took another one of the $5 momentary switches and a set of car horns from a '72 Buick Skylark. Built a small plywood mount up in the front cowl for the horns and mounted the momentary switch right below the seats. Wired it up and I now have a very nice loud car horn on my golf cart for less than $20!
