Re: Yamaha G14 Vanguard 18
The best place to ground your engine would be a starter mount bolt. I would make a Y cable from the battery to the starter bolt and then to the frame.

Re: Yamaha G14 Vanguard 18
So I installed my new custom 4ga battery cables and grounded to the engine mounting bolt thru the cradle and it cranks over not only great but faster too
Cleaned out the carb and pilot jet it wasn’t completely stopped up but dirty somewhat now if I can just get my tractor muffler installed. I need one piece of pipe still to connect to the Flex tubing hope to get that done this week |

Re: Yamaha G14 Vanguard 18
I would think most of us who have big blocks don't run governors. |

Re: Yamaha G14 Vanguard 18
I spoke with Jay at OEM the company that manufactures comet clutch about how to Tell from a Chinese knock off the only way was to remove the bolts in front
He also added they looking at making it easier to identify I got my latest one today from Black Friday special |

Re: Yamaha G14 Vanguard 18
SLO take the 3 retaining bolts off the outside and under that ring should be some markings
It’s probably a comet This is the first one I’ve seen with the new markings Last edited by BIKERMIKEYBLACK; 12-10-2019 at 09:41 AM.. Reason: Addition |

Re: Yamaha G14 Vanguard 18
When we first started talking about knock off comets - go back and read HBR's thread. The cover bolts required a 10mm wrench to turn them out.
