Got all the parts to hook up muffler also
Wondering how this could happen by just changing the oil. The fuel pump is in an odd location with a lot of unnecessary tubing. Originally, the pump was located right next to the valve cover with a very short pulse line.

My pulse line is on the side of the valve cover where the oil fill cap is so when filling valve cover using a funnel I usually just pour it full and wait so while that’s going on it runs into the pulse line down below into the fuel pump Down below unlike yours

You don't get oil in pulse with a carb connection. The crank pulse works better but oil can be a problem. I am going to redo mine in effort to get oil out, which gets in there a little during high rpm runs with my clone off valve cover.

I have a 94c and on the trail it runs great but in the yard slow speed its not very reactive. I've tuned on it a lot had it off there 25 times, cut a custom spring for it, so on. So yes it runs at 4200 rpm like I want now but still revs on take off then 10mph it works pretty good on up. Make sure the belt is not tight that will make it rev a lot more on take off, or mine does, had to move the entire engine and different longer belt to get mine working better.

Great cart you scored there!

Well I’m now having cranking issues though it was the battery (had a lil lawn mower battery ) so I put a regular car one in same trouble battery cables look real small so ordered some 4 gauge ones then I want to
Put a ground strap from the engine to the frame or the engine cradle?? Which it go to the cradle is rubber mounted so I’m thinking it needs to go to the frame any thoughts on that ?
Next thing too is valve adjustment

Run your ground strap from the engine block to the negative side of the battery. I usually attach it on top of the engine mounting bolt so it has good contact with the block.

Don't know about the 18's, but the 23 has a bolt designed for the battery ground.

Mine doesn't have this bolt. Maybe some have them, some don't? I just used one of the engine mount bolts as Field suggested, works really well.

I had issues with cranking as well when I had the ground wire on the engine mounting plate. Wasn't good enough to be consistent, had weak cranking. Once I switched it to the engine mounting bolt, no issues.

My 18 does not have that bolt it’s grounded to the engine case
I still think I will run another strap from engine mounting bolt to frame
Thanks
