Vtwin upgrade breakdown
Does anyone have a list for what upgrades add x amount of hp?
I got a 18hp Vanguard and I am trying to estimate the hp of it when it is fully modified. I was told there was a list a while back for it and can't find it. Sent from my SM-N970U using Tapatalk |

Re: Vtwin upgrade breakdown
I’ve not seen any list like that but normally someone going all out would add
Tachometer Remove governor Rev kit springs pushrods either 2 steel or chromoly Timing advance key 20hp 2 barrel intake and carb Free flowing exhaust 23hp cam or Cheetah cam And that should be enough And remove exhaust restrictions if it has them Last edited by BIKERMIKEYBLACK; 11-28-2019 at 09:59 AM.. Re: Vtwin upgrade breakdown
Is there a performance difference between a dual barrel carb and 2 individual carbs?

Re: Vtwin upgrade breakdown
Probably I’m not sure a lot of mud motor guys run twin carbs check out backwater performance and carrier performance they have a lot of that stuff but it is expensive

Re: Vtwin upgrade breakdown
What are you trying to achieve?
What's your budget? You can do all kinds of mods that are cheap, but the big power comes from big dollars. If you are trying to be the biggest, baddest around, get the credit card out. If you are looking for more "usable" power....a rev kit, cam, and two barrel carb are all you need. You can do porting/polishing yourself to save bucks. |

Re: Vtwin upgrade breakdown
I am putting it into this build so badass sounding and performance(speed torque) is what I want. I want to do basic cheap upgrades first. Then once I get more cash I am going to do cam and everything. It is a ways from drivable but I am just looking at an estimated HP for a fully built 18hp for an idea I might be trying.

Re: Vtwin upgrade breakdown
Its a glorified street legal golf cart from the 70s. Only 52 were made. I got 14 bodies (only 6 good ones) they were called suburban safaris

Re: Vtwin upgrade breakdown
Its pretty cool. There pretty much all the drivetrain and suspension is junk so I am fitting a G16 as part of the frame. G16 chassis, G2 rear end, and thinking CC DS steering
