Default 2010 Precedent front leaf spring break

One of the guys I play golf with had the front leaf spring on his 2010 Precedent break on the drivers side yesterday. This is the second time in 6 months that the spring has broke last time was on the passenger side. When it was replaced last time he did not replace anything else just the spring. He has asked me to replace it for him this time. Should I replace the shocks while I am at it, I was just thinking that bad shocks might be contributing to the problem. Has anyone else ever encountered front spring breakage problems.

I can't see how the shocks could have anything to do with the spring breaking.
I just put a lift kit on my 2005 precedent. I have all the parts removed from my cart if you need anything. I also have all the parts from my 2003 DS I put the lift kit on.

How is the cart being used is the first question I would ask. If its just normal use and not used for jumping, then I would move to the part used. Precedent front springs do break, not often, but they do. Aftermarket parts are just getting worse and worse, if that type of part was used.

Golf cart guy the cart is used only for golf and running up and down the paved roads on the way to the course. Not sure what replacement spring was installed last time it broke, it was replaced by the dealer that maintains the fleet at the golf course.

So its not used or abused in its use, so lean towards a poor part.

The Chinese do not make good steel...it's a mix of our scrap melted and blended but not the quality needed for good leaf-springs.
