Default tire size how much will it change mph

if i go from a stock 18.50 tire to a 22 inch tall tire how much will it change the top speed on my cart i converted to 48 volts it has dana rearend in it and it is a stock 36 volt motor in a 1976 harley 4 wheel cart i'm going to buy the tires but if it going to kill the torque power i might not go that tall so if any one can help thanks

It will eat up a little torq, but you will gain speed.

There is a formula somewhere in the archives but considering you upped the voltage on your old motor you should be fine with the 22s.....my 36v resistor CC wanted to climb walls ( almost) on 48v with 20s.....

Look at the top of this page under quick links,there is a speed calculator just type in your numbers and it will tell you diference in tire sizes and speed

thanks i found it now so at 2800 with an 8.00 gear and 22 inch tall tires it says 22 mph but i switched to 48 volts how much will that change the rpm on my motor maybe 1000 rpm at full speed on a full charge after all this i will start to look for a good price on a controller and a pot box that will add a little perfomance to the cart
