Re: clone into a 96 par car
If you can upgrade to a Comet 780 - a model with a 1800 rpm engagement. I don't use the tachometer anymore to adjust my idle. On my ride I can sit behind it and see the clutch and turn my idle screw with a very long screwdriver. I can rev the engine and watch the clutch close and start to engage - back off and see it open -- completely. I set it where it idles very well and accelerates off idle perfectly -- make sure the belt has 1.5 inch deflection -- when I check the tach it's idling at 1350-1400. Zero drag on the belt - easy no muss shifting - I even have neutral and finding it is easy.
