Default Tire pressure

How much tire pressure is typical in golf cart tires? I've got 22-11-10 tires. The stuff on the side of the tire is confusing. One number I see says 36psi and the other number says 5psi. Quite a difference.

20 psi is normal on a golf course.

True, but for the stock 18 x8.5 x 8 tires.
The pressures shown on those 22" tires should be something like 5 psi for normal use, and the 36 psi as a maximum to seat the beads when mounting the tire on a rim. Those "balloon" tires will bounce all over and make the cart squirrely as all get out if you try to run them at 36 psi.

Carlisle All-Trails' 11x22x10's on one of mine and they say "Inflate to 22 PSI" but I run 18-20 psi for optimum wear pattern and tire stance. It is a 4 seater DS and I have had 3 sets over the years and they all wore very evenly.

Mine are at 18psi. So I guess I'll run them at that and leave it alone.

Thanks guys.

you can put a thick chalk line across your tire and drive about 30 feet and check the wear , then adjust air pressure accordingly .

Now that's a great suggestion.

I checked my rear tires and they were at 18psi. But after I posted, I checked all four tires. The fronts are only at 10psi. Not sure why they would be different. Is it normal to run the fronts lower than the rears?

I have seen it, it is due to not much axle weight on the front compared to the back set having 2x the axle weight. I run mine all the same but I usually have a load when we are riding...

Read all the words, not just the pressure numbers. It will explain itself. Your tires "probably" state something like max pressure to seat the bead is 36psi, max operating pressure 5psi.

If you understand your tires ratings, your vehicle, and how the weight is distributed front to back it is not uncommon to vary tire pressures to suit conditions.
