Default Club car DS clutch rebuild??

I've got a 2000 club car ds. It would only run about 13 mph when I bought it so I adjusted the govenor and got it up to 18 mph. (4,000 rpms) I had a very faint squeal in the drive belt so I replaced it with a new one and it took care of it. I've noticed on the front clutch the drive belt lacks right at 1/2 inch from coming to the top of the sheaves. From what I've read on here it sounds like it should come up a little higher. The one front sheave has a very slight groove in it, you can't see it but you can feel it. Does this sound like something a rebuild would take care of or do I need a full clutch replacement? Does a rebuild kit include parts for both clutches or do you buy them separate?? Any tips or tricks on rebuilding would be appreciated. I plan on doing the work myself. Thanks!!

I've had my drive clutch apart just to clean it up and lube it, but the parts were good so I never bought a rebuild kit. I've never looked one up or priced one out, but the rebuild kits for each clutch would most definitely be sold seperately. The clutch on the motor is known as the drive clutch, the clutch on the rear end is the driven clutch.

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking about just buying a puller and pulling mine off and cleaning it and see what happens before i go any further on a rebuilt kit.

Aftermarket belts are a little shorter than stock. It probably won't ride as high as a stock CC belt. 1016203 Part #
