Default Re: 1973 Harley Cart

Just put a voltmeter on the battery terminals and rev the engine at little above idle. On my 1972 3 wheel harley, I had someone give it a little gas and it was chocked on one wheel while I had the leads on my digital voltmeter touching the battery posts. On my charged battery, it was climbing from 12.2 Volts to almost 13 but I didn't want to rev it more or it might jump the chock. If you were to jack-up the rear end you could rev it as high as you wanted. There is a chance that you have a bad battery but first see that the alt./voltage regulator checks out with increasing voltage when reved up. Good luck
