Default Transaxle Install Question

Hello, just got back a 1998 DS transaxle I had rebuilt. The guy that rebuilt it attached the entire axle assemblies to it but told me I needed to put gaskets where the axle tube bolts on to the transaxle. I looked in the parts manual and it does not show any gasket. Does anyone know if there should be one? I believe the pre '97's had a shim or gasket where the tube attached, but that was when when the tranny and rear end were separate.

Just RTV there. I like Permatex Ultra Grey for those and the case halves.

Ok, thanks for the reply. That was my plan if I didn't find out otherwise. I 'm always grateful for the help and knowledge of the community on this forum.

By the way, do you know what the torque settings are for those axle tube bolts?

I don't know the exact torque spec for those, but they are not usually very tight.
They are short bolts and go into aluminum. 20-25ft-lbs maybe. When I've done those before I just get them normal tight with a hand ratchet similar to a drain plug or spark plug.
