Re: going lithium on a 1984 ezgo ??
Haven’t tried them but whichever way you go, get a 48v battery, not 4 x 12v batteries. Dakota have both and you didn’t mention which battery you were looking at.
You also don’t mention if your cart is modified. The Dakota 48v 96Ah battery would be ok for a standard cart but with only 100A continuous discharge it may not be adequate for a modified cart. Cheers Pat. |

I don’t know anything about the ezgo but now may be a good time to convert to 48v. Some carts need only a 48v solenoid when going from 36v to 48v. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can comment.

If you are going to convert to Lithium, I would go with 48V also. You may have to update the controller and solenoid to do that.

Re: going lithium on a 1984 ezgo ??
1984 is a resistor coil cart. I would not spend lithium battery money on a resistor cart before I converted it to solid state.

Re: going lithium on a 1984 ezgo ??
I would only do this upgrade if the cart is in very good condition overall. The cost to upgrade and go with Lithium will be more than the cart is worth but if the cart is in nice condition, you might still want to do it.

Re: going lithium on a 1984 ezgo ??
The wet cell batteries are much more forgiving which may be a lifesaver in the case of a resistor cart malfunction like a welded throttle or solenoid.
