Melted Brake Cable... No Power...
I purchased an EZGO Marathon 1991 last fall. It ran fine. I live in the North East and was afraid the batteries would freeze over the winter. I stored it in a garage. I pulled it in and out a couple of times during the winter. It felt like the drivers side rear tire was locked. It was too cold to look for the problem.
Now it wont move. I noticed that the drivers side brake cable was melted and locked. Thats the easy fix. Even with the brake cable released it still wont move. I tested the batteries and they are fully charged. Any advice or direction. Thanks |

Re: Melted Brake Cable... No Power...
When you removed the cable did the brakes relax? They could very well be stuck in the applied position. Tap around the backing plate with a hammer and maybe they will free-up.

Released the pin and the brake disengaged. Wheel spins free again.
Are the batteries grounded. Could the electric batteries have grounded themselves to the brake cable. The housing around the cable was crisp and black. |

Re: Melted Brake Cable... No Power...
I was looking at the wiring diagrams and I do see a couple that are in the wrong place. Not put there by me... I will take a picture of the cart just so I know I looking at the right diagram.
I really appreciate the help. |

Re: Melted Brake Cable... No Power...
Good news... I over looked a broken battery cable. I have power.
Still concerned about the melted brake cable. I have a couple of pictures. I also want to confirm that it is a 1991 Marathon. |

I am also looking for a good reliable & quick site for parts. Cheap would also be good.
