How do you adjust drive belt tension on a g1
I replaced my belt the other day but it still seems pretty loose i can push down on it and it will move almost 3 inches is there a way to adjust this?

No way to adjust belt tention on a G1 to my knowledge. I'm pretty sure the engine is bolted down in place and not like the G2/G9.

spriddle, my neighbours g1 has an engine tensioner bracket and rubber engine mounts, last time i looked.

There is not an adjustment on my G1.Are you your belt is not to long?

the belt I got was the right number and its just a tad tighter than the old belt I removed

I replaced both my belts on my 2 G1's and they were a knuckle buster getting them on, guess the old ones were stretched but wow what a difference.

Yes I just replaced my belt and it was tough but not 3 in slack. I would do some measureing
