Default 94 Carryall 36V wiring problems, no forward

Newbie with wiring/component problems. 1994 Carryall 36V (F9401-364859) with Curtis 1204-015 controller and speed switch.

Melted F/R switch after long slog with a heavy load in muddy field (melted either blue or orange front terminal, I think it was the blue). Installed rebuilt F/R switch (checked F/R Switch with ohm meter prior to installation). Unit would only go in reverse (at normal speed) when accelerator depressed, not forward.

Decided to replace ALL wires due to age of cart and wire condition.

Cart still will not go forward. However, the cart starts immediately in reverse (at high speed) once ignition is on and F/R switch is moved into the R position. Good solenoid clicks with the F/R switch in the F position when accelerator is pressed, but no movement.

Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks. Jourdi

Welcome to the forum jourdi.....................

Recheck your Micro switches and pay close attention to the NC and NO screws. (normally closed & normally open)

Check the old ones that came out and rewire the new ones (if you had the wires off) so they wire up to the correct screws and or micro switches.

Rusty, thank you for your quick reply.

By micro switches, are you referring to the three switches attached to the F/R switch? If yes, I have checked them with an ohm meter and they are off (closed) when down and on (open) when up. All three switches are on or up for reverse and only switch 1 is on or up on forward. All three are off in neutral.

I have also confirmed the wiring with the schematic contained in the sticky thread (89-03 36 volt electric club car wiring diagram with Solid State controller).

Thanks,

Jourdi

Thumbs up Re: 94 Carryall 36V wiring problems, no forward

Problem Solved.

Discovered short in the V-Glide assembly. Rewired, tested resistance and reinstalled.

Thanks for the help.

The white and black wire terminals were touching inside the V-Glide assembly, therefore the immediate start when the F/R was moved to reverse. Not certain why I had no forward, but after eliminating the short, everything worked properly. The wiring diagram in your sticky thread was most helpful. Thanks again.
