Trying to complete my 96 TXT
I recently bought a 96 txt 36v and put a High 5 All Sport lift with STI DC40 wheels and 27in tires. I do know I need to upgrade the motor/controller, solenoid, F/R switch and cables. Right now I am using the cart at a campground with loose gravel roads and a few steep hills. There are a few trails that I would like to venture down with tree routs, mud shallow streams and some fallen trees (nothing bigger around then 5 or so inches). Nothing to crazy just off the beaten path. Any advice on what I may need or what I can get by with for now?

Re: Trying to complete my 96 TXT
This is an age old problem when somebody gets the biggest tires possible and wants to power them with a minimal drive system.
Your cart will need an upgrade for the F&R switch, cables, solenoid, & controller. I suggest you consider a voltage increase with those big meats, too. Stock tire circumference = 56.5 Your tire circumference = 84.8 Somewhere close to a 40% increase in final gear drive. So you need that much more power just to get back to how it ran power wise on the stock tires. |

Re: Trying to complete my 96 TXT
Thanks Scottyb for the info. I know I went a little crazy with the tires and knew it would give me issues. I have seen some motors that say up to 70% increase in power when must are 40-50%, how accurate are these numbers? I think I need at least a 400 amp controller is this good enough? What about a different gear ratio? There are just so many motors/controllers out just don't know which is best. I am going to need new batteries soon I am hoping to get through summer but was wondering if I am going to replace motor/controller, batteries and a few other things could I just upgrade to 48v and would it make a difference? I know a lot of questions and don't mean to bombard you or anyone else just confused.
