Default gutless 82 g1 help???

my g1 i just bought doesn't run very well it always starts up and runs but i swear it only goes about 5 mph. here is what i have done, drained the gas tank, and filled with new, new fuel filter, new spark plug, new air filter, new carb I even bypassed the gov.....and still no improvment....any ideas??? How do you know if your drive belt should be replaced??? any suggestions would be great

I would bet you need crank seals.

Look behind the clutch on the engine and underside of the engine for oil or wetness. Some say with the engine running to spray wd40 in that same area and the engine will rev if the seals are bad. From what I understand if the seals haven't be replaced in 5 years they are bad.
