Battery Brands and Costs

Hi folks,

Just starting the winter research as I will be buying new batteries in the spring as well as making a few mods. From what I've read Trojan seems to be the popular brand with others touting US or Crown. I was quoted $190 Canadian per for Crown CR165 and then $270 Canadian for Trojan T-875. Do those prices sound about right? A considerable difference between the brands...

Maybe see what the price is for Crown CR-190's. They will have notably more capacity than T875 - vs only barely/slightly less capacity than T875 using CR-165 (at least according to spec sheets).

Not sure what the conversion rate is, but I just paid $125 USD/per battery for a set of Trojan T-875's. That included local delivery (Florida) and core charge.

And Yes, I like US, Trojan or Crowns and all 3 are top tier brands.

Currently, the Trojan T-875's are $111.00 each in North Florida. That would be about $142.00 Canadian.

I know you will have a struggle to find prices comparable to US prices.

Fortunately, you should only have to buy them every 5 or 6 years!

I have some friends in upstate New York which is also where I'll be taking the cart come spring. We have a trailer in a park on the edge of the Adirondacks. Time to call in a favour.
