Default Charging AMPS

I have a Power Drive 2 charger model # 22110. When i plug it in the amp meter pegs out to the right 15+. I think this is what make my #1 battery go bad. Is this normal ?

Is the red wire from your charge port going to the same post on battery number one that hooks to your solenoid?

Welcome to bgw
15 amps is good for the initial charge phase. Not hurting the battery

A battery is a series of individual cells connected
in series.
When you connect 4 or 6 batteries in series, you
make one big battery, just 24 cells connected in series (48v)

Not harming the first cell or battery or last cell or batt.
If anything, I notice center batts go bad faster.

Makes me wonder if rotating batts could extend the pack life.
Though, there's
No evidence or science of that , that I know of

All the batteries in a series pack charge and discharge at the same rate - there is no advantage to rotating EXCEPT that in a lot of CC there is a nasty little 16 > 12 volt reducer connected to the last 2 batteries. This causes a pack imbalance that only worsens with age until the pack fails and inevitably #5 and 6 (#6 is the main negative connection) are the worst. I hope this helps.
