Default 1982 Club Car Cannot Go up an incline in reverse

I just purchased a 1982 Club Car. It rides ok going forward, but in reverse the slightest incline prevents it from moving. Are there any tips to help here ? I know in reverse only half the 36 volts are used ( from what I read ). I assume we can rewire to use 36 volts in reverse as well ?

Any tips to make it move a bit better overall ?

Based on the thread subject and your comment about overall improvement, You do have a battery problem, specially with batteries 4,5,6.

Those are the only batteries currently used for reverse, but on a normal cart are more than adequate to move the cart up an incline.

Moving the reverse power cable as Crash indicated will help.

Make sure none of the resistor coils are getting hot when you are driving at WOT, that can also cause a lack of power.
