48 V carts
Why not four 12V batteries instead of six 8V? So much stuff runs off 12V it seems that would certainly simplify things.

Re: 48 V carts
Because 12 volt batteries do not have the capacity of 6 volt batteries. 8 volt batteries do not have as much capacity as 6 volt batteries. An automotive type 12 volt battery is not a deep cycle battery, nor is a deep cycle marine battery. Deep cycle marine batteries are a hybrid between a starting battery and a true deep cylce battery such as a 6 volt golf car battery and don't have the capacity either.
You can use them but run time will suffer greatly. |

Re: 48 V carts
you can use 12 volt batts if you want to but the cart will spend most of the time on the charger and the batts won,t last long at all............there is a big difference between them just pick up a 12 volt than a 6 or 8 volt and you,ll see the difference in weight in the lead inside.............................
