Re: Any tips on painting the raw plastic roof?
Thanks Scott.
I just finished the roof. I ended up degreasing the roof, and then applied Krylon Fusion. Heard alot of good things about this paint, so we'll see. Asked alot of different opinions. i will post any results whether good or bad. Mike |

I'm not usually a fan of yammys, but very nice cart and paint job. Please let us know how the paint holds on the roof. I'm wondering if it will eventually peel or crack. I really want to paint mine but I worried that it will crack or peel after a few months.

Re: Any tips on painting the raw plastic roof?
I've never done it, but a bodyman friend of mine painted my dads cart and roof to match. He did a great job. he somehow got the exposed edges smooth and do shine with a gloss, I'll ask him what he did and pass it along.
I'll take some more pics tomorrow that dont chop off the roof like these. It blends copper to black like the rest of the cart. |

Re: Any tips on painting the raw plastic roof?
Ok...so...update on the Krylon Fusion paint I used on my roof. This past week my friends and I thought it would be fun to take the cart out in the flooded roads and mud we've been getting here in SO-FLA but we didn't want to get soaked so we duct taped some $2 clear shower curtains around the cart to keep us dry. Well I used Gorilla Tape(really strong duct tape) and taped them all along the roof. This sat in the rain and sun for about a week before I pulled it off finally. Went to pull all the tape off thinking I would have to re-spray where the tape was but to my surprise none of it came off. Incredible. I HIGHLY recommend using the Krylon Fusion paint. This stuff actually bonds to the plastic VERY VERY well. Never seen a spray paint bond to plastic so well! And there was barely any prep involved with this stuff...no primer or anything just clean it up real good first!

Cool! sounds like fusion is the way to go. Has anyone seen it in orange or metallic colors?

I have yet to try it. Sounds like they still have a limited selection of colors. I think duplicolor aslo make a silimar version. Has anybody used it? I was going to try the fusion on my kids plastic play house.
