14 modules....eh? Very nice!! You have twice the modules I purchased. Depending upon the performance.....(my need) of my 7, if I "need" more I will purchase an additional 7.

That may cause me to "need" another separate BMS....I dunno. But time will tell.

The height is to the top of the terminals.

The pack was sold as 120ah rating. I have not yet done any real tests on it, other than to read the voltage of the whole pack which is at 56 volts at the moment. I'm not sure if the size of the batteries are different for the different ah rated ones. I would assume they would be different as well

Yeah DaveTM, I figured if I'm going to do it, I'm going to get the most range possible!

We should have the same size pack then as 14s 2p doubles the ah rating from 60-66ah to 120ah

From an internet search, it appears a single LEAF module measures:

Length 11.9291" (303 mm)
Width 8.7795" (223 mm)
Thickness 1.3779" (35 mm)

So it would be reasonable to assume a stack of 14 would be about 19.29" without the end plates.

I can't find data if the 2011-2012 measure different than the 2013-2015 modules.

I believe 2016 is when they went to double stack modules (effectively 2 old modules in one case) with a higher 82 AH rating. Earlier were 66 AH rated, as I recall.

I have the 2013-2015 modules and can measure them tonight when I get home to confirm. I think DaveTM has the 2011-2012 modules. E36 has the 2016+ modules.

I'll measure my 2016 modules when I get home they are alot thicker for sure but seem to be the same height.

I only measured the module thickness and they are 1-3/8" each. Or 1.375".

Hi All! - I just joined this forum a few minutes ago. I'm going through all of the Lithium conversion posts and there's a lot of good info!

My question on the Leaf batteries is if each CELL in the pack (2 cells in series, 2 parallel) have a certain cut off voltage for charging and discharging before the cell is damaged.. is the BMS smart enough to manage each INDIVIDUAL cell in the pack? Or does it strictly manage the voltage of the total pack at 7.4-8v? My understanding is the BMS needs a lead (wire) to connect to each cell to measure voltage. I don't see how that's possible in the Leaf pack with the way it's built.
