So I wired up one of the two BMS modules and checked with my meter and I think it’s all good. I’m going to do a fabrication run first and once I know everything works as planned I’ll go back and make it pretty.

Then I decided to make the CAN cable between the two BMS modules to get an idea on spacing when I mount them on the side of the pack. Man, the microscopic molex pins/plugs are a royal PITA to solder together. Once it was together I was admiring my work and saw a pin didn’t go all the way into the plug. No big deal, grabbed my meter lead to push it in.... broke the **** wire off.

So I went on Moser, ordered 10 plugs and 100 pins for backup and called it a night. I was so mad, everything was going so well. Such is life I guess. On the bright side at least my BMS tap harness wiring diagram appears correct (thank you PingEye3 for the fancy CAD wiring diagram)

I tried soldering those a few times. I now have a crimper and life is good. Enjoying the thread.

I have a crimper too, but on these small 24ga wires I rather solder them for the added strength. I was so pissed I didn’t touch it these past two nights.... but now I’ve calmed down a little and I’m looking forward to getting the tap harness and BMS module CAN cable wrapped up tomorrow after work.

I decided to get fancy too. The fabric wire sheathing I used on my 2ga cables..... Well I bought 1/4” and 1/8” that I plan to put on all of the CAN cables and even the tap harness wires when they come out of the orange plastic covers to the BMS modules.

I see that you and Furyous both live in Miami. Have you seen his cart or talked to him about his conversion? I notice that you posted on his build thread.

Default Club Car Onward Leaf Lithium conversion

I have some sweat equity in the cougar scooter. Furyous has been a huge influence in my cart. Look at my stereo build (he basically designed it), which will be completed in this thread as a result of the newest addition

I finished up the tap harness. Well sort of, once the blue shrink tube gets here tomorrow I’ll clean up the plug side. But it’s all wired up and checks out with my meter. Putting the shrink tube on the loom ends and making all of the leads the same length is the easy part.

Tomorrow is working on the CAN cables and putting the fabric cable loom on the temp sensor wires so I can get the two BMS12 modules and EVMS Lite permanently mounted on the side of the pack.

Got the CAN cables connecting the BMS modules to each other and the EVMS Lite done today. Then my attention span started to dwindle so I stopped. These CAN cables are really frustrating since everything is so small.

The CAN harnesses turned out great. Nice work.
