![]() I tried adjusting my parking brake on my 09 club car turf 272. After loosening the adjustment nuts, it seems that I don't have any adjustment left on the threaded rod. Could the cable be stretched or maybe the rear brakes need tightening. I thought about putting a shim in , but I don't know if that's the way to go. I'm new to carts and could use some advice. I'm 82 y.o. and trying to get t working right. T.Y.

![]() I think its an understanding of what you have happening. Is the hill brake not holding? Thats a different adjustment than the brake shoes. The Hill brake adjustment is super simple and should be done first. It needs to be noted that is the pawl has been removed, it is critical that part has been installed properly first or nothing else will adjust as it should.

![]() Everything seems to be installed correctly. Where is the pawl located. I just don’t seem to have any more threads on the adjustment rod to tighten the cable. No the hill brake doesn’t hold at all.
