I agree about the secretive part. Since I bought my Icon I have wondered about all this cloak and dagger stuff regarding Icon software, software documentation, xls parameter files and passwords. For example the passwords to IconLive are posted elsewhere in this forum, but with the letters reversed, apparently to disguise them for some reason.

Anyone who wants these files can get them eventually. But not before searching Google, Facebook and here, using cryptic DM's or going to sendspace.com or other seedy websites. I see endless posts of people having trouble finding them. Yet I believe that most of them are eventually successful. So why make it so hard?

I have never once read or heard of an occasion where Icon or LvTong having harassed anyone or any website for posting these files. So can't we just post this information in the clear? And maybe all in one place so anyone can find it?

I don't know about you, but I get tired of seeing every 3rd or 4th post in a forum asking where to get these files.

It's because at the time, it was the only place posted, there were few icon owners, and it would have been relatively easy for a dealer to potentially identify WHO posted the stuff.

Now that ICON is in the wild and there are a bunch of them on the roads, it doesn't matter.
