95’ Club Car DS (Resistor) convert to AC!???
Alright! I took a ragged out 1995 Club Car DS and rebuilt it last fall for hunting season. The cart is a 36V resistor cart and it’s made me through the year on stock motor, but it’s time to unleash it with some power. Cart is running a 6” lift with 25” tires.
I’ve looked at ScottyB’s options as well as some others for doing the normal upgrades of converting to solid state and going 48v. However, the Navitas AC conversions have grabbed my attention. But I’m not finding any information on what it would take to convert my cart to AC since it’s not an IQ styled cart. My original standard conversion was going to bed gut all the electrical, install a Curtis PB6, motor, controller and 2ga wiring. Now the question! Since Navitas doesn’t show any info for a series cart and basically since this is a gut and replace job. Should I be able to put in a pre-mcor to mcor4 conversion along with a IQ wiring harness to be able to use a Navitas AC System setup? My brain says yes, my wallet might say no! |

The Series vs IQ is not an issue on a gut job, You just need to buy the IQ harness as well.
If the 36v was not the 5-Solenoid model, you should also be able to get an MCOR4 conversion. Call David with RevolutionGolfCars.com, he sells the Navitas conversion packages and it is also very knowledgeable with Club Cars. |

Thanks Sergio! That was also my thoughts, but I was unsure if anything else would be needed! Thanks for the input!

One thing that I am not sure but David would know is which AC Motors You can fit as some older Club Cars have less space between the trans-axle motor mount and the springs/shock mount.

Cart has a v-glide now. If I go with DC upgrade I’ll use a Curtis PB6 for pedal. If I go AC upgrade I guess I’ll have to go with the “pre-moor to mcor4 conversion.

Having a little trouble locating a basic 2004-up precedent main wiring harness right now. I also have to upgrade the forward reverse to a rocker switch and contactor.
