Re: BigBattery conversion
Don't see a battery meter on their website. Do they have one?

Re: BigBattery conversion
I did not see one when I had looked. I am just running this.
https://www.amazon.com/Victron-Smart...NsaWNrPXRydWU= Victron makes a gauge that works with that if you do not want to use the app. |

Re: BigBattery conversion
So did you go with just the single falcon elite battery? I’ve been looking at the same set up.

Re: BigBattery conversion
I've had a BigBattery conversion for a couple months and like it. I have two of the Eagles (30AH each) and got the SignatureSolar charger, (instead of theirs) which is $200 and water proof. The kit came with a battery charge indicator but haven't installed it yet. It displays 100% and down, rather than voltage. I like the Anderson plugs. The whole system seems solid and well designed. There are some YouTube vids that interview their main design guy who worked for NASA for 12 years actually designing components that went to space, which is something.

Re: BigBattery conversion
I am looking into the Big Battery Falcon Elite single battery 48v conversion kit. Did some back and forth with the customer service chat box and they keep trying to direct me to the Eagle 2 battery conversion kit.
It appears they are concerned that the Falcon battery may shut itself off if my kart requests a large amperage spike. Falcon is good for 360amps for 6 seconds vs Eagles are good for 400 amps for 3 seconds. I have a 2008 Yamaha Drive (G29 I think) that is pretty much stock. Does anyone know what the max amp request could be from the controller/motor? Thanks in advance! |

Re: BigBattery conversion
You would need to use an amp meter to be sure. You will draw more amps going uphill so every situation is different. Or if your controller has an app or if you had a shunt meter it would tell in there. You could always buy a shunt type battery meter as mentioned, install it and find out what your amp draw is on the fly. Renogy also makes a shunt type meter. Look on Ebay, Amazon or AliExpress.
