Just a tip, I use AutoZone part number 830806 fuel filters. They're relatively compact and seem to perform great.

My nearest Auto Zone is about an hour away. I stopped at Advance and picked up a couple of Purolator fuel filters that fit the line size. I took it for a test ride and it seems to do OK but I don't see any huge difference with any of the mods. Other than it will pull better a lot better up hills and it has got much better engine braking. So I guess I see a lot of difference.
I can honestly say I don't see any difference on take off and I was thinking (hoping) I would see a lot of take off improvement with the Dixie Power Package clutch kit. I have added clutch kits to ATV and the difference was amazing. I guess I had my hopes up higher than they should have been when it comes to adding power. It did slow down the cart on top end which I don't mind that much. These things don't have good enough brakes for me to want to go that fast on. I need to bypass the governor and see what that does for it. Any suggestions on a tach? Thanks David |

The take off will always be the same because the belt always takes off at the same place, no matter what. The spring really only helps with hill power and power once you're moving. If you're disappointed now, buy a B*U spring for a Club Car, now that is a HUGE let-down. It robs power from you...at best.

If you completely bypass the governor, you should hit speeds around 25mph +. Just be mindful of your rpm's and don't run it wide open screaming for long periods of time. Check your oil regularly: which I'm sure you will. I think you posted you put in Amsoil (awesome oil)!!!

Is there a particular brand of tachometer for these motors that works well? Where can I get one from?
I would rather have something to judge the RPM with my eyes and not my foot. Thanks David |

I'm not sure on a tach. I've never installed one on a cart at all. I think Gary has one on his cart. Maybe he'll check this thread. Ron (TheNewGuy) may have a suggestion also.

Thanks for the info and link. Are the digital tachometers as good or better than an analog tach? I have never used a digital tach that I know of. Sorry for the stupid question.
Thanks David |

I don't know that they are any better, but I do like the hour meter built
in. The digital tach has a 1.5 or 2 second delay. Some people don't like that but it doesn't bother me. It is very easy to hookup. |
