1/0 wires

I had a friend give me some 1/0 wire with allen head set screw ends. Is it possible to upgrade the battery and motor wires to 1/0? Right now I have #6 and was wondering if this would increase my speed or just screw things up? I am running just stock motor and controller on a 95 TXT.

#1 is overkill .... what is the strand count and material?

It says its 4265 fine strand oxygen free copper. I think this is mainly used as a power cable for audio systems.

That is a great number of good conductors. The problem we have found with audio type cable is in the case. It is not acid and heat or fuel resistant... You can use it but, it will break down in a few years. Also it sounds like you have stock components so you would probably be better off to get some #4 welder's cable with copper lugs soldered on

upgrading the wires does not increase speed, but it will increase torque a tad.

You need to use either DLO or MTW listed wire. I use 2/0 RHH/DLO

And 2/0 cable can double as a lift out device for the batteries.
