Talking club car carryall wiring question

I have an Electric 1999 club car ds carry all 1. I know the cart is ok and it had a good curtis 1204-412 "4 Pole" controller that I used on another cart some time back. I read that a curtis 1204-410 "3 pole" controller would work in its place. Im not saying its recommended, but I have a good Curtis 410 and i was wanting to give it a try. Any idea if this will work. What would I do with the wires that went to A2? Thanks for any help..

hoping for a guru,.........., update: I did hook the 410 up, I hooked the white wires from the FNR switch and motor together as they would be if it had an A2. It runs great in forward, but no reverse. Unhook the white wires and it wont move either direction. I am going to assume, because i have no clue,, that it cant be done, subbing a 410 for a 412.. Maybe someone has some input that is positive. thanks in advance.

It should work fine, just make sure the cable from Motor A2 terminal goes to the FNR where the cable from controller A2 used to go.

Make sure the Motor S1 and S2 cables go to the swivel posts of the FNR.

You were right Sergio,, I had it hooked up correctly before with no reverse. I didnt see a plug was unplugged on the FNR switch. Without your confirming that it would work, I would be fighting it still...THANK YOU Sir.. !
