Default 2002 CC Battery Maintainer

Will a 2002 Club Car battery charger act as a battery maintainer if the cart is down for a few months. If not what would be a good item to buy and where.

I don't know about CC but ezgo makes a 48v maintainer that mounts on the cart and is designed to be left plugged in. It will sense low voltage and come on, charging until voltage is okay again...I'm sure one of the experts can tell us if CC has those for the new carts and what you would have to do to make it work on your cart with your OBC....or whether you can adapt the Ezgo model. How is your battery pack configured? 4/12s or 6/8s ?

Yes it should, the on board computer on the 2002 will monitor the voltage and kick the charger on when needed. I leave mine plugged in all the time and it kicks on only when needed, tops off the charge and shuts off, thus keeping the batteries maintained, kinda like a built in battery tender.
