Differences in pre/post 2008.5 club car precedent
I have a 08 club car precedent, serial #PQ0811-884874. From what I've gathered on this forum, it is IQ, and it was manufactured 11th week, thus making it pre 2008.5. Am I correct on this?
I notice that there is a different light kit for pre and post 2008.5 club car precedents. What other differences are there? Thanks! |

to BGW
I believe the battery tray is different, the 2008.5+ tray has the ability to hold six 8v batteries. |

I don't think the lite kits are different. I think if you look, you will see that the later, you need a bucket harness with the lite kit. Where as the earlier came pre wired.

Re: Differences in pre/post 2008.5 club car precedent
Earlier Precedents (Pre-2008.5) have the controller, OBC, and solenoid panel running between the batteries. Newer (i2 style) Precedents have the electronics mounted on a panel behind the batteries and have the ability to use 6x8 Volt batteries. i2 Precedents require the bucket harness to be added to install lights. Early vehicles such as yours are already pre-wired for the most part. A light kit will contain everything you need to make it work without having to buy the bucket harness. Vehicles such as yours have the light wiring in the main wire harness.

Thanks, everyone, for the info. This forum is awesome. I've learned a lot over the past few weeks. Getting ready to order and install a lift kit, wheels/tires, and a rear seat.
