2 cylinder kubota diesel swap?
Hello,*
I needs some opinions on a engine swap im considering. Im thinking about getting a diesel motor and putting it in a golf cart. I have a resource where I can get a 2 cylinder kubota diesel motor. My concern is is it big enough to move a golf cart? Im planning on putting a small turbo on the diesel as well. Opinions? Thanks |

I'm a little biased in my thinking when it comes to oil burners so it's no surprise that my vote is to go for it.
A small 2 cylinder diesel is going to have way more torque than a stock motor. |

Something like a Z482 or Z602 will work just fine. I don't think turbos work real well on 2 cylinder diesels but hey...give it a whirl and see what happens. It can't hurt. Use a twin scroll turbo if you can find one. A GT06 should work.

So I managed to get ahold of a Lombardini diesel 10ld400-2. I was thinking about putting that on the golf cart. Do you think this motor will work?

Iv'e got a lombardini diesel in a genset.....and I hate it. I'd really have to think about that before using it. I'd look at the parts situation too. They are overly complicated and extremely pricey but I guess that Italian engineering. They are real popular in the UK.

Re: 2 cylinder kubota diesel swap?
Never said they were bad.... Air cooled diesels make LOTS of noise. More so than a similar water cooled diesel. Most of the time when I see those the owner has junked it because it cost to much to fix when they can buy new for a little more. Hatz is a similar one.
