Default 86-87 ez go drive clutch

Hey guys
I am new to this forum and have a question about my drive clutch on my 86 ez 2 stroke gasser. I just fired it up for the first time this year and I have a loud growling coming from the rear. Upon further inspection and a partial teardown of the rear end ( which by the way is butter smooth) I noticed when the drive clutch starts squezing together I think that is where my noise is coming from. Is this common? Is there a rebuild for this? I just priced a new 1 online and it is around 200 usd. Any help would be appreciated. thnx MW
