Question 1998 G16a Gas motor runs, won't move

New guy here - looked around the forum, didn't see my situation exactly, so here goes...

A month ago I purchased a 1998 Yamaha G16a gas cart and it ran like a top. We ran it all over the neighborhood and it was great. Suddenly, now it won't move. The cart starts, the engine runs, and you can see both the alternator belt and drive belts engaging as they should (I think).

The problem is that the cart won't move in either forward or reverse. Thoughts on troubleshooting steps?

When you flip the F/R lever is the transmission arm moving at the rear end? and if so maybe the shaft is stripped, the worst-case rear end is blown...

Yep, verified that the F/R lever is moving the cables properly.

Is the driven clutch turning the transaxle shaft?
If it is, remove the shifting cables (easiest from the shifter) and manually engage the forward and reverse lever on the transaxle.
You can spin the driven clutch by hand to see if it is engaging.

I can't remember if that cart has axles and hubs like ezgo but if it doe's you might check hub splines.
