Madjax Havoc body lights hookup question
I just got my new body and have a question on the light install. I thought the kit came with everything but I have 6 8 volt batteries so apparently I need some type of an adapter to get 12 volts for my lights. Just a little confused on what I need, some type of a voltage converter. My cart came with lights but I think they were added though they look factory. In front there is only one plug and wires split to both front lights. I think it was originally a golf rental cart. Any help appreciated. By the way the kit came with a complete lighting harness so I will probably replace the wires with the new ones.

Re: Madjax Havoc body lights hookup question
I have done a few havoc bodies and light kits. Some with existing harnesses, some without. I would confirm the cart has a voltage regulator installed, easiest way will be to meter the wires going to the existing headlights. Should be 12-15v anything over suggests you have 2 batteries isolated in series.
If your comfortable enough with finding voltages, then I would suggest utilizing the existing harness... Also, it's tough to say what is the "right" way, just use your best judgement and make certain you are using a voltage regulator |
