08 Presedent 48V - excessively slow on inclines/stays ON with key off
A couple months back the cart intermittently would just stop, then indiscriminately run again it is pleasure. I had already replaced the MCOR so began old school (ohm meter) diagnostics of the entire system following the service manual. MCOR, controller and IQ checked out within specs. Solenoid was above resistance spec.
Replaced Solenoid and cart ran consistently, fast and normal on level ground but with any incline the speed dropped to nothing. I had already checked the battery voltages in prior diagnostics but decided to pull them and run load tests. Two failed and one was at 25% so replaced all four. Following a full charge and what should have been an IQ reset, ran the cart with no improvement in performance. Then the weirdness started - Now the cart will energize and travel both directions with the key off or on. Key continuity tests OK. Cart will also energize and travel with tow/run in TOW position if the key is in ON position. It will not travel in TOW with the key OFF. Run/Tow continuity tests OK. Thoughts and ideas are appreciated. |
